Series – Future Self Journaling – 24F – Rituals for Living Dreambook

Rituals for Living Dreambook Journaling today is Chapter Six of the Rituals For Living Dreambook, Creation, Exploration and Play. Questions 7-10. Answer the questions as your future self three years from now, as though you have attained your goal.

7. Do you have a space just for doing your creative thing? What’s it like? I have my own computer, my own desk. I have a yard with full control of what goes in it, barring local and federal law, of course. The racist neighbors are blocked from my view by the trees I planted four years ago. My peace to be creative is protected. I have this website to share the topics I love. I have time to lose myself my creative outlets. I am given ample space by my partner to nerd out with my fun things.

8. What forums do you have for exploring the topics you are passionate about, that you can share with others? I have my website to explore whatever I wish. I am a contributor to to reddit, anon of course. I also connect with people on Insta. I also contribute to gardening forums and interact with people on youtube. I have a few real life garden buddies too. I cook for my family, friends and neighbors.

9. What fascinates you? People, why they do what they do. Nature i.e. flowers, seedlings emerging from their coats. The feel and smell of soil. The way plants grow, the colors of flowers and what impacts their depth. Art entrances me, in particular abstract, impressionist and the old Dutch masters; Bosch and Vermeer, Hals, Jan Steen et al. I always wish one of them were a long lost ancestor of mine. I am fascinated by the diversity of sexuality, the idea of infinity (is there true infinity?) and I wonder why cashiers sitting is such a terrible thing for people with power to contemplate. I wonder about that daily. It’s nonsensical. Let people sit. Three years from now, I’ll still be wondering.

10. In what ways is life beautiful and how do you live it in a beautiful way? I celebrate beauty, am grateful for the love in the world and acknowledge what makes me smile at each opportunity. A deep illuminating conversation with anyone, but especially with my children, is beautiful. People who give their time or money or kindness to others are beautiful and I recognize these angels and help their cause when possible, that is witnessing beauty. Every seedling is a gift. A sunny day with a slight breeze is a treasure. Sitting in my tomato cave with a dumb grin on my face honors that growth and natures help. Being thankful for humidity and rain. The art on my walls, the artists in my family, are beautiful. Having the time for an uninterrupted nap is beauty. Healthy children I get to hug is beauty. That sweet burst of juice from the first tomato of the season. Being able to breathe without difficulty and walk without difficulty and READ and REMEMBER without difficulty is beautiful. Honoring deep friendships is living in beauty. Being Grateful for the innumerable gifts given to me by this life is living life in a beautiful way.

Grateful For:

-reminders of all I have to be grateful for.

-this Christmas seems more festive than others, it’s calm and sparkly and everyone seems to have a calm positive spirit. It’s lovely.

-biscuits and gravy. I swear there is something so satisfying and comforting about it. And I make a killer BnG, if I may say so. Perfect on this nippy day.

Godspeed Y’all

This content was previously written to ensure this was a true series, and to share insights.

The journaling is part of a 30 Day Challenge I started over a year ago. I consider that a component of the Future Self Journaling process. The gratefulness notes near the bottom of each self improvement post is also a specific and helpful part of Future Self Journaling. The Rituals for Live Dreambook was given to me by my children, so why not add this to my blogging/future self journaling time?
