Series – Future Self Journaling – 22F – Rituals for Living Dreambook

Rituals for Living Dreambook Journaling today is Chapter Six of the Rituals For Living Dreambook, Creation, Exploration and Play. Questions 4-6. Answer the questions as your future self three years from now, as though you have attained your goal.

4. How is your life affected by prioritizing creative expression, exploration and play?
Having the time to play and explore is life changing. Healing can be achieved through both play and creative expression. I am blessed with more time than many in my world, which I use to garden, and paint, take photographs and write, beyond future self journaling. I play online and learn online. I promise I do not take it for granted. The ample time I have to work on becoming a healthier being is a fact I express gratefulness for, multiple times a day. I am calmer, happier as creative expression (thru website) and play (games nights) enables connection opportunities with other people. My innate curiosity is fed appropriately, keeping up to date with important information yet I continue to enforce boundaries against mindless pursuits and morbid curiosities. I am proud of the t-shirts I design.

5. What forms of play and exploration do you engage in, and how often? I write, daily, both for fun and for self improvement. I write love letters and inscribe books for people I care about, on special days. I write letters to friends on occasion, as form of expression and connection. I paint when the mood strikes. I deploy my sharp humor only towards those who it suits. I take advantage of Coursera and other modes of learning. I finally finish the happiness course! I use the personalized cornhole boards someone dear to me made for The Sps and I. I have figured out navigating local friendships to include play, as Covid has weakened some connections. I continue to find new ways to play with my spouse. Game nights are so much fun and are a part of my social life, monthly. My website is my private playground, yet a source of friendship and connection.

6. Who else do you involve in your creative and playful endeavors and what role do they play? I play with my children, still, when they open the door to that opportunity. My marriage is playful, in bed and out of it. I share my garden with the neighborhood and share its fruits with friends and family. My creative sanctuary, my garden, is on the internet to share with others, as there aren’t that many gardeners in my USDA Zone. A need is there! The walls in my home have more art from local artists, I showcase them at each opportunity. Strangers appreciate the time and care I put into my writing, and like my t-shirt designs enough to purchase some. I am a lighthearted neighbor. I am open to others wishing to join my world.

Grateful For:

-having whipped cream when I need it. Jello and hot cocoa are infinitely elevated with whipped cream!

-finally giving up the dog eared pages of all my books and buying some charming pressed flower bookmarks. *adore*

-No Covid in my friends and family circle! Omicron sure is making a push though. I think, as of today, it’s taken over the Delta variant as being the most common in this country.

Godspeed Y’all!

The journaling is part of a 30 Day Challenge I started over a year ago. I consider that a component of the Future Self Journaling process. The gratefulness notes near the bottom of each self improvement post is also a specific and helpful part of Future Self Journaling. The Rituals for Live Dreambook was given to me by my children, so why not add this to my blogging/future self journaling time? Not sponsored, I am not compensated for any of this…I might add an affiliate link, someday. But nothing yet.

The End.
