Rituals for Living Dream Book – Vision of the Future – Chapter Three, questions 1-3. Answer following questions in the context of your life three years from now.
Q1 – What does your business/career look and feel like?
Monetize what I love doing, gardening and sharing knowledge. Without ad revenue. I hate ads on websites, but I get why people have them. Bills don’t pay themselves.
I would rather find another way. People have already offered to pay for for plants, seeds, garden work and my cooking. In three years I can see myself doing what I do now, but more effectively. Regarding writing specifically, I see myself more involved in The Sps’s business as it is growing at a steady rate. I’d like to have the income to pursue a business degree, but I do not think that will be realized within three years. I can commit to writing a five year plan which will incorporate my desire to travel that path.
Q2. How much money do you make? What other benefits do you get?
For now? That’s a private question what my income is, but I expect it will increase in three years beyond the inflation rate. Benefits are likely to remain the same, with the potential addition of a gym membership.
Q3. How do you feel in the morning when you get up and start your work day?
I feel energized, most days. I like the beginnings of things, and I have recently started multiple projects. It will be a challenge weeks or months from now when work becomes a slog. We are also coming into winter. I, like most living things, thrive in the sun. We also recently made some compensation changes, which increases my stake in the family business. Monetarily right now, it’s not much. But if past performance is any indication, it will continue it’s steady trajectory on its road of success and carry me along with it. In three years, I imagine my work projects will actually be culled down to a few of the most enriching, both for income and simply being best suited for me in life overall.
Right now I am in the experimental stage, managing multiple projects. It will be far different, more targeted, in three years. Some projects will be abandoned; ya’ll know already that sunk cost and timecost aren’t just esoteric concepts to me. They are critical factors considered in all my decision making. Some other projects will be simply maintained. The work of mothering may be more involved than it already is. In three years, it’ll be a transition year.
Grateful For:
-warm weather in November. I have so many garden chores y’all!
-Betty White lived a full and treasured life. Blessed be her passing.
-Options. Choices. I have spent many years where I had no options, I had to accept what was given, what little I could afford. We certainly are not wealthy by U.S. standards, but I feel like we are sometimes anyway. We can’t afford the best of anything, but we don’t have to settle for the cheapest option either. It’s such a gift. I need new tires on the car. I am no longer praying I have enough to afford two of the cheapest. I get to look at the different options for tires, consider cost but not be tied to the cheapest set. I am beyond grateful for choices.
Godspeed y’all!
