Dahlia Love – Spartacus

This was the most difficult of the three dahlias I grew in year one. I finally got one bloom, right before frost. It was gorgeous. Before it’s peak, someone or a critter decided to pop the bloom off the plant and set it next to the plant. WTF. I tried again in 2021, with great success. These plants grow about 4 feet tall where I planted them, in partial shade. Not a ton of blooms, but when the blooms are 7″ across, you sometimes get fewer. This variety of dahlia not produce any tubers for me either year.

Anyway, that is why 1. I do not have many pictures and 2. all dahlias are now grown behind a fence.
