Tracking – Pepper Germination

Probably be boring for anyone else reading this. Tracking doc for germination of peppers. Peppers are started in 4″ pots instead of Jiffy Peat, as has been done in years past. This is causing the peppers to take longer to germinate as there is more soil to heat for each seed, and the seed is further from the heat source than it would be in a peat pot. Peat pots are fine, I don’t discourage their use. This year I want to spend less time potting up, so I just started the seeds in larger pots from the start. More waiting for germination, yet less timecost overall.

Aji Rosita – day 4. Often Aji type peppers (Capsicum baccatum) are notoriously slow to germinate. Having an Aji type pepper be the first to germinate is a lovely surprise.
