Series – Future Self Journaling Resolutions – 9G

New Years Resolution this year?

I usually have 50-60 tabs open. No, not a typo. So much I don’t get to read if I eventually get annoyed and shut it all down and start over.

So now, I open the article and read right away. That is my resolution, reduce the tabs down to 10-15. So Far, so good. It’s Jan 2nd, wish me luck!

EDIT: It’s April 8th and I have 18 tabs open. Other windows have 1 tab and six tabs open, respectively. Yeah it’s an odd resolution but it’s going good!

Challenges, smallenges. It’s January, most things come easier to me in January. No special events requiring me to make sumptuous meals. The Sps back to work and Kiddos back in school means the house to myself, allowing some deep focus on task completion, future self journaling, exercise et al. My biggest challenge is forcing myself outside for that daily required walk once the temps hit the teens. There is a great deal of wind here, which means a 15 degree day generally feels closer to zero degrees. While sun on my skin is worth savoring, a brisk breeze is not.

Football is a great source of couple time for the spouse and I. We usually watch a game or two together on Sunday and watch Monday Night Football together as well. I have had some opportunities to help with his work, which I think is a solid deposit into the relationship bank account. I am struggling a bit with making time for him after work when he wants to chat, it’s usually after dinner when I settle in and get my work done and writing in particular isn’t suitable, for me, to conduct in fits and starts and allow for random breaks. I’m working on it though.

Fiber and fruit/veggie servings good, 6-7 past few days. I blew out my calorie budget yesterday but otherwise I’ve been doing very well.

Dressing up? Yup. And wearing a matching bracelet. Challenge met. Looked good as hell picking up the kiddo from school lol.

Five Reasons to Make Healthy Choices

  1. Intermittent fasting works well with my schedule
  2. My veggie stuffed soups and crazy delicious
  3. Clementine fruit are a quick and easy snack, and only 35 calories.
  4. Water helps me feel full and my kidneys love it
  5. Getting my tasks done helps me feel better about life in general

Grateful for:

-the sense of utter accomplishment I get marking off tasks done

-a tidy house!

-when the items I need are on sale!

Godspeed Y’all!

The journaling is part of a 30 Day Challenge I started over a year ago. I consider that a component of the Future Self Journaling process. The gratefulness notes near the bottom of each self improvement post is also a specific and helpful part of Future Self Journaling.
