Series – Future Self Journaling – 9F

The 30 day challenge this month is to pay extra attention to The Sps. Based on his feedback prior, I already do well in this regard. That said, I thought this would be fun to do again and it affords many opportunities for creativity and a happy environment. I have the TAD (time, ability and desire) so why not?

I did something cute the other night, I tucked him in. Our sleep schedules are vastly different, he always falls asleep hours before I do. Usually I’ll stop what I am doing and snuggle for a few minutes til he goes asleep then get back to my writing. I’m a night writer, ha!

He was complaining about being cold and the blanket not laying correctly so I fixed the blanket, rubbed his feet a minute (I hate doing this generally) and tucked the blanket around him. I also slept one night without the overhead fan, which I need for white noise. It wasn’t terrible so I’m down to try it again.

Yesterday evening I made a complicated south Indian dish. It was a beef curry with a slaw and samandi and a curry base AND another herby base. It’s a South Indian curry, over rice and with lentils (dal). It took two hours as there were so many steps and prep. A sous chef nightmare, I tell you. It tasted like cooked potpourri with all those seeds and herbs and plant parts. I did not like it, but The Sps did. And as I wasn’t a fan, he got a couple of leftovers too! I’ll try the beef curry dish again someday, once I have fresh veggies from my garden again.

Today I ran into the store to grab his favorite donut to have as a snack tonight. More sweets for my sweet.

Other challenges today? Off the rails. Reduced fat Pringles does NOT count as a starting the day with potatoes.

FINE I’ll list the five reasons for making healthy choices.

  1. Diabetes is very bad for my eyes, how about we avoid that.
  2. CKD advances to dialysis, how about we avoid that too.
  3. All those fabulous clothes in my closet I am close to fitting into again.
  4. I feel pride when I have success to write about.
  5. My joints don’t prefer my fatassery.

Grateful For:

-in the 60’s this week. It’s early December. In zone 5.

-found a ton of new gifs on telegram. I love a good gif.

-chatting with the kids more these days, one of my unofficial goals. We are all introverted so it’s work on both sides. One kiddo took a big step and I am *proud*!

Godspeed Ya’ll!

Quick recap. The journaling is part of a 30 Day Challenge I started almost a year ago. I consider that a component of the Future Self Journaling process. The gratefulness notes near the bottom of each self improvement post is also a specific and helpful part of Future Self Journaling. The Rituals for Live Dreambook was given to me by my children, so why not add this to my blogging/future self journaling time?
