LOL did y’all see what my last FSJ installment said? That I was back on track out would continue throughout the summer.
I tell you what. The garden is a Siren, a call I heed if the sun is out and the weather is over 60 degrees. I should have known better.
Anyway…
How you all doing?
It’s (checking Carrot) 5 degrees, awesome, as it’s above zero. Latest this week, the windchills are predicted to be -50 below zero. No thank you. Why do I live here? Family. Ain’t the weather.
Anyone else have the Neighbors app? Some people, I swear. Our neighborhood has walkers. With dogs and without. We also have people with disabilities who get out and about. A typical neighborhood, I think. Of course, a weather event brings out the grouch in all of us. Some people take it public. On the neighbors app, someone posted a link to the ordinance regarding shoveling your sidewalk. Within 48 hours, shovel the walkways, pretty basic. Most people agree, then comes some dude bitching about having to shovel at all. Come on, man.
I pride myself on always being quick to getting snow removal done. This is the first year we’ve had a snow blower too. I walk for myself and walk the world’s cutest pup, so I like a clear sidewalk. However, more importantly, I find it upsetting that kids have to walk to school and get snow in their boots or shoes. Not every kid had good footwear. Not every kid gets a ride. Not every kid thinks to bring a pair of dry socks in their backpacks.
I can’t have my pathway being the one where someone falls or a kid gets a shoe full of wet snow.
Shovel your damn sidewalks, people.
I am Grateful for:
-A warm house
-a body able to shovel
-no Covid! One of my kiddos got covid last week. First case of Covid in the family. It was mild and the rest of us are fine. Thank you vaccinations and being a homebody!
-was a LOT of medical issues in the family the past couple of weeks. Everyone is healing, healed and recovered. Thank you Health!
