Whoops! I forgot to eat fruit yesterday. But I did have a salad and some squash casserole, hence getting in 6 servings of veggies and a lot of fiber.
The Instacart shopper delivered The Avocado, and it has determined that my future self will be eating the beef enchilada tomorrow. I will be creating a red sauce for the dish to bake with, and serving with a half homemade salsa verde, cold. I’m a greedy one, I want both with my beef enchilada.
Grateful for:
- Not waking up to some racist, lying, bullcrap reported from the media alerts I follow from He Who Shall Not Be Named.
- Spring is coming!
- No homeschool tasks this week.
- Having too much toilet paper now, so time to lengthen the subscription timeframe. Blessings lol.
Short story time. One of my experiments I plan to conduct in my garden playground is the differences between Hillbilly tomatoes, dependent upon the business I purchased them from. The last packet of Hillbilly seeds are from a small outfit I came across by chance. This outfit didn’t have many reviews but seemed to have a positive review from Dave’s Garden (where I go to check if a seed outfit is legit), and there were reviews on the site itself from many different customers. So I chanced it, purchasing five small orders of seeds, one being Hillbilly tomato, one of my favorite tomatoes.
The next day, I go back to the site just to browse, as they had some types of maters I had never seen before. Site will NOT load. No maintenance message, nothing, just an error. Ok…Paypal took the money. The business doesn’t have my $$ info so I can chill about that at least, monitoring my bank record just in case. All is well. The site has my email, yet no I have no confirmation email from the site itself. Am I going to get my seeds? Next day, same error. A few days in, a Maintenance Message pops up. The site owner sick with covid? Family emergency? Forgot to renew the site? How much time offline before I ask for a refund?
Now, I myself do not keep up with my website, in fact it is in maintenance a lot, because it is my playground, for my use only. Nobody will probably ever read this blog post and frankly, I am super cool with that. It’s not a business nor a source of income. If it was, you can bet I would be paranoid about access and uptime. A takes-your-money site should not give an error message for days or behave in any way that panics a customer.
So you can imagine my relief when I the USPS delivered the seeds. WHEW!
EDIT: The seeds from this little known vendor were true to type and the tomatoes were delicious!! I will do a write up on the farm this winter. I have an order for next summer (2022) already on its way. https://renaissancefarms.org/
Godspeed Y’all!
