Series – Future Self Journal – 5 – Shoppin’

The website theme or addon I have is telling me it doesn’t enthusiastically endorse my word choses and writing style. I am scoring low on…something I am suppose to research. Eh. My journal is for me. If y’all enjoy it or take any benefit, bonus!

I get a little hateful when I see websites with shitty ads. What makes a shitty ad? Uh, most of them. I like rewarding small website owners contributing to their Patreon, Paypal, Buy Me A Coffe and other direct methods of support. I’ve purchased multiple t-shirts from my favorite youtube channels. Feels good to support and rep good content.

No mechanism of monetization on the website, yet. Why ask for support when you have no idea if your content is even helpful to anyone? I think asking for direct support AND filling my screen with shitty ads I have to scroll through to access content is tacky. Lord gods stop me if I *ever* fill my screen with visual barf.

Who knows how I’ll feel later, but I’ve felt this way for many years of playing with and on a multitude of websites. I have a fear an ad will pop up that pitches a product I cannot vouch for, or one I do not like. I’d rather monetize in a way that compensates me directly for having provided something valuable to you. If I ever monetize at all.

Side benefits of keeping my promise to journal daily on this website? None this morning. I did not keep to my fasting schedule nor stay anywhere near my calorie budget. My health plan may as well have been a nest of spiders I had no intention of being within a mile radius of. I also only took one walk, one block, a .4 mile. I sat on my butt and watched football, monitored my seven fantasy leagues and damn near ate my pants off. I bought everything bagels…yes I know better. I bought an XL Hersey Bar with Almonds, and did not share it. Instacart is a godsend?

I did continue journaling as promised. Feels like I have been doing this far longer than 5 days!

Day Five, I was most grateful for:

1. Everything. Yesterday was fantastic!

2. Not having COVID. Probably.

3. Home was Cheerful, a happy day, a peaceful atmosphere.

4. Instacart! Grateful Instacart in in my area. My experiences them have been very good. Far better than the experience I had with the local grocery store and their in-house delivery.

Stories for another day.

Godspeed y’all.
