Series – Future Self Journal – 29B – Flags n’ Guns

“May the universe facilitate a change of heart and mind”

My new mantra, instead of calling maga neighbors “nazis”. The blessing is whispered with a small smile as I jog by their homes, with their orange horror clown flags STILL flying, almost two months after the election. Feels good to call it as it is, but behaving in a way that may engage an ignorant crazy person (who thinks nothing of protecting those around them from Covid) would not be a bright move on my part.

It’s the same dipshits that always get guns stolen from their vehicles. Especially here in Omaha. I always find it funny that so many conservatives assume we liberals are not armed. Many of us are, and maybe some of us left the Army an Expert shot. We don’t advertise because it’s careless to and lacks weapon security. Liberals get their guns stolen far less and it’s harder to disarm someone you don’t know is packing in the first place. We also give a shit about gun safety, and won’t leave a weapon laying around in a car or under a pillow. We love our children, and hate illegal guns on the streets or accessible to the suicidal.

IF we have a weapon.

Edit: Almost a year later, the big orange traitor flags are gone. One of the traitors moved. My neighbor flies a desecrated American flag now though. Other neighbors have requested I have a chat with this gun toting subzero intellect person, asking him to fix the flag issue. Yet, being a veteran, the oath of service and the First Amendment rights my deplorable neighbor has to fly any damn thing he wants wins out. I figure he is showing the world who he is. Other neighbors who just tolerated that household now can’t stand em’. Works for me, to be honest. I see no reason to police his flag. Flag code matters a great deal to me, but it isn’t law. And when you see a home shitting all over flag code with how they display the colors, it’s a good bet they are of the traitorous kind.

A warning flag, if you will.

Grateful for:

  1. Productivity today.
  2. No COVID here, still winning!
  3. Took a short cold trot outdoors, glad I made the effort, as cold and windy as it is.

Godspeed y’all.

Resource is an example of Nebraska laws pertaining to firearms. There are too many resources to list them all. All persons with firearms for any purpose should keep up with applicable laws and gun safety best practices.
