All seeds grown in the high wind, lower rain prairie, Midwest, in macro-climate zone 5(ish). Average dewpoint in summer is around 60. Soil is a loamy clay. Although my preference is organic, I have used commercial fertilizers from time to time. Growing Days approximately 135. Gardening Personality: Relaxed, experimental, purist about very little. We practice High Intensity gardening.

Sunflowers

Yeah yeah, in the fall when I have to deploy help to get the stalk out of the ground, I swear I will do fewer sunflowers. So I bought more for 2023.

Mammoth Sunflower – Botanical Interests – Free Seed. Variety produces a single flower, about a foot across. The plant was 12-13 ft tall in my garden last year.

Teddy Bear – MI Gardener – First Year – 2-3 ft tall.

Autumn Beauty – MI Gardener – First Year – 6 ft tall.
